Microsoft released this month a first Service Pack to its Office 2007 Suite.
We've been using it internally for more than a week now and we haven't encountered any problem with it so far.
The Service Pack incorporates stability, performance and security improvements as well as all of the updates released for the 2007 Office suite prior to December of 2007.
There is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article with a description of the service pack and a downloadable Excel file detailing the fixes and improvements it contains.
Of the some 450 issues listed, 63 are generally applicable to the Office suite while 37 are specific to Word (Outlook gets the lion’s share of the fixes with more than 100).
A good number of issues are related to localization and internationalization (things like proper support for Japanese characters, etc.). The English spell checker now recognizes more words.
A number of fixes should impact performance positively, both for onscreen and print operations.
Some fixes obviously touch on security, making it ever more difficult to make malicious exploitations of Office 2007.
There were also some problems with VBA and Add-ins, but nothing that was impacting the Xpertdoc Xpertdoc Add-in (thankfully :-).
Overall, a good number of fixes, which was to be expected considering the size and the richness of this suite.
